Josephine and Christoffer Du Rietz: Building a Life

Josephine and Christoffer Du Rietz are a Swedish design duo renowned for their transformative work in Mallorca, Spain. Through their firm, Durietz Design & Development, they specialize in renovating historic properties, blending Scandinavian minimalism with Mediterranean warmth.

Their journey began in 2017 when they left their respective careers in Sweden—Josephine in interior design and Christoffer in digital design—to pursue a shared passion for architecture and home renovation in Mallorca. The island's rich culture and natural beauty have been a constant source of inspiration, influencing their aesthetic and approach to design.

One of their most notable projects is Camp Roig 31, a century-old townhouse in Alaró. The couple meticulously restored the property, preserving its historical elements while introducing modern amenities. The result is a harmonious blend of old and new, reflecting their commitment to craftsmanship and authenticity.

Beyond their design work, Josephine and Christoffer aspire to create a boutique hotel, further extending their philosophy of thoughtful, immersive spaces. Their story is one of passion, resilience, and a deep appreciation for the transformative power of design.
